KQ's 2024 QUILT SHOW!
Keepsake Quilters' Quilt Guild hosts a quilt show every other year, and 2024 is the year! You'll find over 150 quilts ranging from traditional to contemporary, from miniature to large, featuring both hand and machine methods.
Everyone is welcome to attend the show and view the art and craftsmanship of local guild members. $5 admission at the door. The show will feature a "bed turning" event of quilts that have been made by awardees of the Guild's GOLDEN NEEDLE honor. The quilts represent remarkable workmanship -- one for each year for the past 24 years. |

2024 SHOW RAFFLE QUILT
Featured at this year's Quilt Show is a RAFFLE QUILT. It is a stunning, queen-sized quilt featuring an Amish-style use of brilliant solids offset by a contrasting black background. The quilt has been meticulously quilted with elaborate feathers and designs that enhance the quilt's pattern. It's definitely a must see! And, definitely worth a chance or two (or more)!
Raffle tickets are available at the door during the Quilt Show, or ahead of time from any Keepsake Quilt Guild member. The tickets are $1 each, or six tickets for $5. MERCHANDISE
At the Quilt Show, you'll find a few vendors that specialize in quilting goods. We'll also have tables of donated merchandise available for going to the highest bidder.
Of particular note, the guild's charitable component, Quilts to Share, will host a table of goods made by guild members. All the proceeds go to Quilts to Share to help pay for supplies needed for hospice quilts, and other charitable needs. |
QUILT SHOW CATEGORIES:
Quilts will be entered and judged in several categories (as noted below), and in the special, show theme category, "Primary & Secondary."
Featured CHALLENGE Category: "PRIMARY & SECONDARY - An Explosion of Color & Pattern"
Quilts in this year's show challenge feature designs that reveal a secondary pattern when blocks are assembled. The overall effect of quilts that have a secondary design are a perfect example of the axiom, "The whole is greater than the sum of its parts!" As you view these special quilts, you'll enjoy identifying the basic block as well as noting how the individual blocks create an overall pattern. Sometimes the secondary pattern is formed with strong lines, and sometimes with color placements.
